Since the middle of the first decade of the 21st century Polish largest cities, including functional urban area of Gdańsk and Gdynia, have become one of the most important business service destinations. The aim of the case study of Gdynia is to indicate the set of location factors determining the structure of incoming investments. The study uses inductive approach. Results of the existing research output and information regarding individual entities have been taken into account. The study identified general factors of business location services. They are also important in the case of Polish cities, including Gdynia. The strengths of Gdynia are primarily a very good availability of modern office space and communication accessibility. The city also stands out in terms of significant work resources - competition for employees is still not very severe. In addition to investors taking advantage of typical location factors (service shared centres or business outsourcing centres) in Gdynia operate those using the specificity of the location and structure of the economy. This actors perfect the ICT services, offering consulting and training services for the shipyards, shipowners and other large industrial enterprises, as well as designing ships and offshore structures. This kind of activities creates the specificity of Gdynia business services.</p> ER -
